Location: Remote with routine travel to Northern Virginia

Job Description:
The Software Integration Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting software integration solutions that connect systems, services, and data across secure, enterprise platforms. This role helps ensure interoperability between internal and external applications and supports smooth data exchange, automation, and end-to-end functionality across mission-driven environments.

Working under the guidance of senior engineers and architects, the Software Integration Engineer collaborates with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to build efficient, reliable, and compliant system interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integration Development: Implement integration components using APIs, scripts, and automation tools.
    • Support functionality across systems, services, and environments.
  • API Support: Build and test RESTful API connections between internal and external applications.
    • Assist with API documentation, authentication, and monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Work with software developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure integration reliability.
    • Contribute to integration testing, deployment, and debugging efforts.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with data flow, service connections, and system interoperability.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and incident resolution.
  • Documentation: Maintain integration documentation, including interface specs, workflows, and system dependencies.
    • Ensure changes and deployments are properly tracked.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the optimization of existing integrations and the adoption of modern tools.
    • Support the evolution of legacy systems into scalable, cloud-ready solutions.
Security Clearance Requirements:
  • An eligibility of Top-Secret is required for this position.
  • The applicant may be subject to SCI eligibility requirements, including but not limited to a Polygraph.
  • All applicants will undergo a security prescreening during the application process regardless of existing level of security clearance.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Citizenship Requirements: All applicants must be U.S. Citizens residing in the United States.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in software development, scripting, or integration roles.
  • Flexible: Able to work in cross-functional teams with changing technical requirements.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination and documentation.
  • Organization: Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Mindset: Curious, collaborative, and mission-focused with a desire to improve secure system performance.
Technical expertise:
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, web services, and messaging protocols
  • Basic scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git) and issue tracking (Jira)
  • Awareness of secure integration practices and compliance (FedRAMP, NIST)
