This position requires a well-rounded individual with a strong understanding in a variety of IT concepts and is comfortable working with the customer to identify their requirements to design, develop, and test unique Big Data/Data Science solutions to address high-priority, and oftentimes time-sensitive needs. This includes building and implementing tools and capabilities over vast arrays of unstructured data to yield informative and predictive insights.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in a development environment that is highly reliant on DevOps, AWS and related emerging technologies.
  • Provide independent working ability and full life-cycle support to answer the challenges of these systems.
  • Develop specifications and make recommendations to existing systems using new and emerging technologies to promote system stability for the customer.
  • Assisting with the daily operation and maintenance, responding to a variety of ad hoc requests.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience exhibiting written and oral communication skills to various audiences, ability to tailor the communication based on the audience
  • Demonstrated experience providing support to development projects. This support includes user and system requirements collection, analysis, definition and documentation, assist with tracking the status of project activities, identifying strengths and weaknesses of solutions, and verifying deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated system engineering experience with developing and/or upgrading projects to an AWS private cloud hosting environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows or Linux operating environments
  • Demonstrated experience in information security, specifically the process of taking a system and software applications through the customer’s Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) process

Desired Technologies/Skills

  • • Python data engineering support, including ETL methodologies
  • • Developing/managing Data Catalogs
  • • Developing solutions on top of Apace Solr and ElasticSearch data stores
  • • Developing data science solutions to address text analytics and geospatial problem sets
  • • Developing/managing security accreditation documentation and process
  • • Working with Linux, Windows 8, or other similar operating systems
  • • Familiarity with standing up Sponsor’s enterprise tools and folding data into these tools
  • • JavaScript, AngularJS, D3, Github
