Location: Currently remote but will eventually require 2-3 days a week onsite in DC

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a web developer well versed in open source web technologies and comfortable all around the web application technology stack. The selected candidate will work in a small agile team to design, implement, deploy innovative products and features for a variety of commercial and government clients.  You will work in a fast paced environment where your opinion matters and you will be able to see the fruit of your work deployed to our customers on short release cycles.  This position offers the ability for telework.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Build full stack web applications from scratch, from the database or API to the front-end

  • Deploy, secure, and manage workloads in the AWS cloud environment

  • Interact in a collaborative fashion to ensure delivery of quality software products

  • Solve complex problems, assimilating information rapidly, and completing tasks within each Agile iteration

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • 2+ years in software development with Java, C#, or other modern object-oriented programming language

  • Strong command of CSS, HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript, JSON (Bootstrap or Material is a plus)

  • Development experience with at least one of the following modern UI frameworks: React, Angular, Vue

  • Development experience with one of the following open source MVC frameworks: ASP.NET, Spring, Ruby on Rails, Grails (with Groovy))

  • Ability to query and manage database schemas in SQL databases such as Oracle or MySQL

  • Must have proven experience working within a DevOps continuous integration and delivery environment.

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services

  • An active AWS professional certification is a strong plus

  • Familiarity with responsive web design and unobtrusive JavaScript principles

  • Strong command of user experience (UX) principles

  • Knowledge and experience with NoSQL data stores

  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker
  • Experience with AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and other server-less services
  • Experience with CloudFormation or Terraform
 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
