Data Engineer

Designs, implements, and operates data management systems for intelligence needs. Designs how data will be stored, accessed, used, integrated, and managed by different data regimes and digital systems. Works with data users to determine, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems. Plans, designs, and optimizes data throughput and query performance. Participates in the selection of backend database technologies, their configuration and utilization , and the optimization of the full data pipeline infrastructure to support the actual content, volume, ETL, and periodicity of data to support the intended kinds of queries and analysis to match expected responsiveness.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Development of BI solutions that adhere to technical and quality departmental standards

• Ensure technical solutions are scalable, maintainable, properly documented, and support the long term goals and strategies of the Business, Product Owners, Leadership and the Agile Team.

• Partner with BI Analysts, Data Scientists and other business stakeholders to meet their data requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: 

• To have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or software engineering;

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or other Information Technology related degree

• Extensive knowledge of data warehouse principles, design and concepts

• Expert in SQL

• Adept in tracing and resolving data integrity issues

• Self-motivated

• Ability to bring new ideas and promote process improvement

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI POLY Eligibility.
