Brief Description:

The successful candidate shall be a technical lead for an Enterprise Web Services team working to migrate data center operations and resources (servers and applications) to the cloud. The primary goal of Enterprise Web Services team is to provide engineering and operational support for Middleware technologies, Web Services products, and Enterprise Applications and Technical Projects based on customer requirements and mission needs while ensuring 24x7x365 support for its mission-critical systems.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Track, maintain, and continuously improve upon system availability, system security, performance, and overall health of Enterprise Web Systems.

  2. Participate in outage calls to provide 24x7x365 support.

  3. Maintain up-to-date documentation of all specific procedures and processes, system configuration baselines, implementation plans, system back-out plans, system recovery plans, maintenance plans, system upgrades, and all system changes.

  4. Review, evaluate and modernize current Messaging and Web Services designs and architecture to ensure efficient and highly available services are provided to customers.

  5. Design and support Web Services products on Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere Application Server, and any other java container as directed by the designated government lead.

  6. Develop, implement and support custom coded scripts and COTS/GOTS-based system interfaces supporting the Web Services infrastructure.

  7. Engineer, implement and support custom coded and COTS-based system interfaces supporting the Middleware infrastructure.

 

Required Skills:

  1. Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.

  2. Must have an active or ability to satisfy a DHS/CBP background investigation

  3. Expertise in many of the following is required to troubleshoot technical issues and support custom coded software: COBOL, C, C++, Perl, SQL, Java, Linux Scripting, JavaScript, PowerShell, and XML

  4. Working knowledge reading and creating network documentation

  5. Understanding of popular network communications protocols such as DHCP, DNS, RPC, HTTP, SNMP, and ICMP

  6. Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere Application Server

  7. Expertise in Oracle WLST and IBM WSADMIN commands, Java, python and Linux shell scripting.

  8. Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 7 years related experience

  9. At least 1-3 years experience working directly with clients

  10. Motivation to learn and seek guidance

  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired:

  1. Experience supporting the DHS customer

  2. Experience with implementing web services in the cloud, e.g. MS Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
