Brief Description:
This position is for a highly-skilled Data Scientist to support the deployment, transition, and evolution of web applications and data workflow to a micro-service architecture. Additionally, the candidate is expected to work with data processing, such as accessing web service application programming interfaces (APIs).

This position is for a highly-skilled Data Scientist to support the deployment, transition, and evolution of web applications and data workflow to a micro-service architecture. Major Responsibilities:
- Provide SMEs experience in micro-services, Cloud Technologies, AWS/C2S, containers, data layers, System Administration, and SQL/NSQL database experience
- Perform security integration, auditing and monitoring in accordance with DIA standard and processes to include accurate reporting procedures for internal use software expenditures
- Technical subject matter expertise in software coding and unit level testing, including but not limited to Java, python, Ruby.
- Draw on existing DIA (DoDIIS) and IC ITE Data Service Architecture (DSA) architecture, security and application requirements/processes, take advantage of lessons learned from previous projects, leverage existing, available DIA data repositories and services, the DIA Software Development Environment, DevOps processes, EPS data and platform capabilities, DoDIIS available infrastructure (including but not limited to: C2S AWS, GovCloud, VMware, physical systems) and leverage existing DIA and future IC ITE environment, tools and services.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Must have at ten years of specialized experience in software engineering.
- Supports the design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions. Develops basic and detailed program specifications.
- Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, maintain, and modifies computer programs of high complexity, significance, and risk.
- Preferably has an active/current TS/SCI and CI Poly.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent training.
